Tasoula Antoniou Katsiami: Managing Director

Tasoula Katsiami (Dip TEFL, BA TEFL, MA Education, PhD Candidate) teaches English for exams to high school students as well as English for Adults at U-learn.  She has had a very long experience in the education field starting from the UK, as part of her teaching training.  She worked at Pakeman and Coleridge Primary school as a teaching assistant and at Westminster College as an EFL teacher for levels A1-B1. After graduating in 1991, she was employed at College Melkart, Limassol Cyprus in the primary sector.  From 1993 to 2009 she continued her career as a primary 3rd grade teacher at St Mary’s school, Limassol, Cyprus, a private language school in Cyprus.  At the same time she has had various publications in education magazines (Junior Focus, Teaching Primary) on the independence of language learning, on motivating techniques for young learners and on what is motivation for teenage learners.  She is a member of the Cyprus Teachers of English Association (CyTea) and International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language. (IATEFL).  She is also a Speaking Examiner for the Cambridge IELTS. In 2009 she founded her own private institute, U-Learn Education Centre. She has been an active teacher-educator and has always managed to be updated with the profession as she has always attended various seminars, webinars, workshops, lectures, education fairs, both locally and abroad. Learning for life is her motto and during her teaching, she takes every opportunity to allow students ownership and autonomy of learning.

“Every day is a school day for all of us”, as she believes, yet, she aims to offer successful and stimulating education to everybody.

Aimili Kallinikou

Aimili Kallinikou is teaching Greek at U-Learn Education centre. She graduated from Aristoteleio University of Thessaloniki in 2012, where she obtained her Bachelors degree in Philosophy and Pedagogics. During her four years of studying there, she taught students in Gymnasiums and Lyceums as part of her practical training. At the same time she was a volunteer in an orphanage in Greece and she took lessons of Italian language. Upon her arrival in Cyprus she attended national language lessons, where she successfully completed all 3 levels.  Aimili has been employed by U-Learn since October 2014. She has the ambition of expanding her knowledge by attending seminars and workshops on teaching methods for adults and children. Her view about a more effective but also a more pleasant learning is the implementation of learning-by-acting and -doing as one focuses out of an in-active classroom.  Moreover her main target is the combination of the past with the present for the achievement of the original knowledge. She believes that everyone and everything around us is a teacher and her motto is that the best teachers teach from the heart, not from the book.

Vasiliki Panayiotou

Vasiliki Panayiotou is an experienced, enthusiastic and focused teacher committed to safeguarding and promoting the education and well-being of children and young people at all times. Vasiliki is passionate about giving young children the best possible education in life, and enjoys working in a busy environment and relishes the challenge of managing a diverse workload. She is able to establish a supportive relationship with not only students but also their parents and fellow teachers with the aim to promote and reinforce a student’s independence and self-esteem. She is someone who is fundamentally committed to good practice and innovation and a team player. Always engaged in continuous learning in order to broaden her knowledge and experience, she is confident, passionate and enthusiastic about working with children. Vasiliki is currently looking for a challenging teaching role that is only limited by the candidates drive and ambition.

Education: she is a holder of a Bachelor Degree in Primary Education, a Master Degree in Gender Studies, a Diploma in Special Education and a certified CELTA English Teacher.

Stavria Michael

Stavria Michael is teaching Computer at U-Learn Education centre. She graduated from European University of Cyprus in 2012, where she obtained her Bachelors degree in Computer Science. From 2013 she started her career of computer teacher In 2017 she certified by the CTP (Certifies Training Professional) from ECDL. Stavria has been employed by U-Learn since February 2017. She has the ambition of expanding her knowledge by attending seminars and workshops on teaching methods for adults and children. Her motto is “I call my students “my kids” because in our year together they aren’t just kids on my class list, they become a part of my heart.”

 

Raphaella Demetriou

 

Graduated from Lancaster University in 2014 where she obtained her Bachelors degree in English Language and Linguistics. She has been teaching English at U-learn Education Centre since 2015. She has recently become a certified trainer of vocational training. She attended seminars and workshops on teaching methods for adults and children in order to expand her knowledge and learn new skills. “To teach is to touch a life forever”. Teaching to her must be growth minded and life giving.

 

 

Dora Stylianou

Dora is an English Teacher who acquired her Bachelors degree in English Language and Literature at Aristotelio University of Thessaloniki. She has also completed courses on Teaching english as a Foreign Language as well as attented numerous seminars. 

With a long working experience in various schools and institutes she has a broad and established perception on different teaching approaches. She wholeheartedly believes that “A good teacher is like a candle which consumes itself to light the way for others”.

 

Maria Georgiadou

Maria is currently an English Teacher in our institute and conducts Conversation and Speaking groups. Conversation and Skills Classes is the newest addition in our programmes and aims towards both fluency and accuracy for young learnerns. The programme promotes discussion and critical thinking and highlights the importance of turn-taking and discourse structures.  She aims to assist students enchance their vocabulary through various teaching techniques.

Maria has obtained a degree in English Language and Linguistics and has graduated from the University of Essex. During her studies, she conducted intense research on the Psychology of the Learners and how real life materials can be used in an ESL class.  During 2016 she began teaching as a member of private institutions, teaching English and organizing materials for ages 4-16.  Ever since,  she has learnt to ecaluate the path each student as separate and unique. She wishes to adapt materials on learners according to their needs and skills in order for them to progress, feel comfortable and derive the best possible results.

 

Svetlana Kavrakova 

Svetlana is a qualified philologist/linguist with more than 15 years of experience in teaching Russian and English to primary and secondary school grades in private institutes, and undertaking freelance private lessons. She is fluent in Russian , Bulgarian , Greek and English. In addition she is a freelance Translator in English and Russian. Acted as interpreter to various clients, such as law firms, property firms and others.
Svetlana teaches Russian to all ages and levels A1, A2, B1 and B2 according to the CEFR standard( Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) in private Institutes in Limassol. She has an experience from the Adult Education Centers, Limassol, Cyprus / Επιμορφωτικά Κέντρα Λεμεσού.

She has obtained a Bachelor  degree of Science – Pedagogy of teaching Russian and English to primary and Secondary school grades, and a Master of Scince- Russian Linguistics.
